Analyze costs and recommend changes to align with regulations or policy to support audit readiness Assist in overseeing inventory and OM&S practices and make recommendations for audit improvements Assist with the preparation of month end and year-end financial statements and reports Review and assist with reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts Assist with annual audit preparation and responses as assigned Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting procedures and programs Review General Ledger accounts and identify negative trends; recommend corrective action Advise on Trial Balance/General Ledger Account abnormal conditions and recommend corrective action Support consolidation and compilation of month end and year end close of financial statements and accounting Support GF internal controls and audit findings Develop SOPs to support financial gaps ISO of GF/WCF processes as directed or upon identification of gaps through discovery Assist with Asset Certification review and development Assist with development of required documentation in support of Journal Voucher for submission to Comptroller or higher for signature; review all supporting documentation IAW regulation and policy Support WCF audit response development Data Analysis/Remediation for universe of financial transactions Provide interpretive and analytical perspective on financial transactions and program execution.
Compile data remediation plans and corrective actions for transactional data discrepancies.
Develops and formats content to provide managers with various data relative to funds status Prepares response to reviews or audits.
Ability to access and navigate transactional flows in Navy ERP Basic
Qualifications:
Accounting degree and CPA; demonstrated experience with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) with most current positions; experience reviewing and assisting with financial statement reconciliation desired experience on Navy Working Capital Funds within the federal government; experience with Navy ERP or other ERP systems Secret Clearance Job Type:
