Medical Practice Manager

This is a Full-time, Benefit-Eligible, day-shift position. We are seeking a Medical Practice Manager to join our vascular clinical team.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Responsible for marketing and managing a large physician office (4 physicians).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises all front and back office staff in the practice. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, performance development, training, salary increases, and termination of office staff in accordance with the mission and values of DaVita. Appropriate follow through with ePCNs, PTO approvals to balance needs of teammates with needs of practice, and other personnel actions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.
Front & Back Office
Ensure that all front office and back office responsibilities are completed appropriately.
Adept at front office responsibilities; able to fill in for Practice Coordinator as needed.
Adept at back office responsibilities; able to fill in for Medical Assistants as needed.
Work with physicians to coordinate physician schedules and call coverage.
Coordinate staff schedules and coverage.
Order drugs, office and medical supplies and approve invoices for payment; meet with pharmaceutical reps as needed.
Identify opportunities to expand the practice.
Promote and exemplify DaVita values within the practice.
Know and understand all emergency procedures for clinic (including but not limited to evacuation, fire, natural disasters); be prepared to respond calmly and efficiently with patient safety as priority
Marketing
Identify opportunities to expand the practice and promote it within the community (medical and general).
Coordinate marketing efforts with the physicians.
Contact referral sources and arrange physician appointments; in consultation with physicians, arrange speaking engagements and meetings between DNP physicians and
referring physicians and physician groups to actively market the practice.
Active involvement with MGMA (Medical Group Management Association) and personal professional growth
Prepare marketing brochures, letters, etc. to support marketing efforts.
Send thank you notes to referring physicians.
Finance
Understand and review the practice financials with the physicians on a monthly basis.
Prepare ad hoc reports for the physicians as necessary.
Manage the revenues of the practice with proactive review of all payor contracts and financial oversight of billing practices, general ledger, expenses, etc.
Monitor and minimize the practice expenses.
Work closely with DNP Finance and Accounting team to ensure all superbills are coded correctly
Billing
Oversee the billing function for the practice to maximize income, timely filing, and minimize balances due that are greater than 45 days.
Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
(Education, licenses, certifications, and experience required to fulfill the essential duties, include computer skills as required):
Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree or related field or minimum of 8 years' experience in healthcare management or a combination of education and experience.
CMPE certification a plus
2 years experience as medical assistant preferred; Medical Assistant certification preferred
Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office suite (or similar programs) including but not limited to worksheet skills (Excel or similar program), word processing skills (Word or similar program).
CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of beginning work

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
